Head of Aquaculture Feed Optimization

The Fishin’ Company’s Pittsburgh, PA, office seeks a Head of Aquaculture Feed Optimization to develop and maintain critical path “feed formulation” for our key aquaculture species (including, but not limited to Tilapia, Pangasius and Shrimp). Will also develop feed formula; continuously calculate and maintain Feed Conversion Ratio; achieve/maintain all applicable calculation metrics (Growth Rate, Survival Rate, Mortality Rate, etc.); maintain Cashflow forecasting; design and manage all related research projects; submit monthly reports to the CEO and review all targets each quarter in a formal performance review with CEO and EVP Sourcing.

Must have five (5) years of experience in a related position.

Experience must include three (3) years with: (i) programming to create and optimize algorithms to enhance feed conversion ratios; (ii) using MS Office and related software to confirm measurables on cost structure and profit margins along with forecasting tools to gauge cashflow needs; (iii) applying statistics and monitoring the cost of ingredient composition as well as their impact on the final formulation mix; (iv) using graphics software skills to demonstrate via computer assisted presentations the effectiveness of the formulations at different stages of the product (fish) life cycle; (v) designing research projects to ensure fullest due diligence on varying formulation options; (vi) calculating rates for final fish (rate of growth, mortality rate, feed consumption, disease control etc.) as well as recording and interpreting the data; and (vii) working autonomously as well as developing and managing a support team.

This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States, but must be able to work in the Pittsburgh office three (3) days per week.

Experience can be concurrent.
