Our Commitment to Quality
The Fishin’ Company has strict quality, sourcing and sustainability standards for all the products we supply our customers. As a leader in the seafood industry, we believe it is our responsibility to only source products from suppliers who are certified in both sustainability and safety. Doing this is not only the right thing to do, but it ensures the products we produce are of the highest quality. We pride ourselves on being fully compliant with all food safety and social compliance-related requirements.
The Fishin’ Company is honored to have partnerships with leading organizations that are deeply committed to quality, growth and sustainability of the seafood industry. To ensure our ability to provide safe and high quality products, we require our plants and processors to follow all food safety processes and programs that align with the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative), the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) Seafood Processing Standards and the Marine Stewardship Council’s Certification Standards.
In addition to these certifications, we require all the plants and facilities we source from, as well as the network of cold storage facilities we partner with, to be HACCP certified and routinely third party inspected. These production plants also have their own quality-control teams on site and on the floor during production to monitor all processes to ensure all quality standards are being met. And because quality is also related to have traceability within all levels of our supply chain, we only use approved suppliers and subcontractors for our bag and box packaging needs as well.
Finally, The Fishin’ Company requires our products to be put through a multitude of rigorous testing, in order to ensure our quality is always the best it can be. These tests include, but are not limited to tests related to food safety, including microbiological testing, analytical tests, and organoleptic analysis. We require our products shipped from overseas to be inspected for quality and safety prior to shipment, and we voluntarily partner with the United States Department of Commerce (U.S.D.C) and the United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A) to conduct audits on quality and safety, on our products produced both domestically and abroad. We also have long-lasting partnership with international testing laboratories, who serve as certified impartial 3rd parties, who are able to conduct extensive testing on a range of safety and quality issues.
